what is fair value of 427/435 short block?
I was talking to a guy tonight that has a 427/435 short block (casting 3935439) that he said came out of a 69 vette. It is a 4-bolt block and has a fresh bottom end with factory forged crank, hi-nickle "dimpled" rods (his description) and forged pistons. The guy seemed very knowledgeable about and has had several bb vettes.
Is this block actually what he says it is and if so what would it be worth with the fresh bottom end re-build.
He is asking $2000.00 for the short block and will not budge on the price..is it worth it?
He also had a tri-power set-up that was immaculate (sealed in plastic bag) that he was selling tonight - Guy was on his way to pick it up. The guy was only buying the intake so he still has the carbs that he wants to sell.

if the 427 is actually what it is represented to be it is probably worth the asking price, especially to a 69 owner , how much does he want for the carbs?
