69 Sidepipe covers
Think I may have found an OEM pair of these locally but am not sure what they are supposed to look like (never seen a real set!). Are they made of both chrome plated metal and fiberglass or all metal? What part numbers if any are stamped or etched on them? If the chrome is pitted or flaking from the fiberglass portion can they be replated or restored? Sorry if this sounds dumb but I have no idea what real ones look like.

They ate chrome plated aluminum I am unsure regarding P/Ns they can be replated and I have a number of a gentleman in the NE that restores ONLY 69 side covers. Make certain the fiberglass heat shields are intact and not broken, they are as expensive at the mating covers

Re: 69 Sidepipe covers (3X2-427)
68 - those pics help alot, maybe I can use the ebay ones to get this guy's price down!
3X2-427 - Any idea what that guy charges to restore a pair that would probably need replating?
Anyone got close-up pics of original covers on a '69 they can post?
:D

restoring 69 depends much on the amount of pitting, clean but bad chrome approximately $500. Check your e mail for pictures of mine now in the hands of the Good Doctor
