Well, at least you're not whiling away your employer's time with demon internet.
On the other hand, maybe that's why you're complaining: Are all these meetings are keeping you from Corvette Forum? You could always take a lap top TO the meetings; then they would think you were a really diligent employee and taking notes. :D :D

I worked for a guy who used that for his philosophy. Never did a lick of work, but sure spent a lot of time as the big exec in meetings!

Yep, been there and done that...He didn't need to do any work because he could help develop your career by assigning more responsibilities to you. Somehow it never seemed to work for me, but his minions did seem to benefit by my taking on more responsibility. :D

Patrick:
I love that. It reminds me of last year when I worked for a group of medical doctors. That was the most "we've got to have a meeting" bunch of people I've ever seen. They never accomplished squat. But the free lunches were good.

Patrick, et al -
Let me suggest the "Ice bucket" technique. Take an ice bucket to your next meeting, when the blowhards who love to hear the sound of thier own voices start to run thier pie holes, allow them to talk (I like to phrase it more like, "...feel free to waste as much of my time as you like...:mad") as long as they want - that is as long as they keep thier hand in the bucket while they do so.
