Default Correct Intake

Have
A 1968 Convertible Made Oct 1967
All Engine Parts Are Dated Oct 1967
But I Am Missing The Tri Power Intake
Have Made Some Research And Need some clarification
On A L71 427/435hp The Right Intake Should Nb 3937797 Is This Right ?
And Since All The Other Engine Parts I Have Was Dated Oct 1967 , Did They Make The 1968 Intake Already Then ,so It Should Be Dated Oct 1967
As Of What I Know A 1967 Intake For 1967 Vette Is Slightly Higher And Would Not Fit
Would Appriciate Your Knowledge In This Matter

Thanks
Ann

With an October, 1967 build date, the correct intake for your L-71 would be casting #3919852; "late" cars used #3937797. The 3x2 intakes used on the 67's are too tall to fit under your hood.

John is 100% correct, as far as the judging manual is concerened. The intake on the early 435's was a 3919852, but with this said I have found numerous mistake's in the Judging guide's. The C-4 guide which is the newest one out has quite a few in itself. So I would not take it as the gospel.Do some further research. Viet

You guys are correct the intake is 3919852. The intake lasted through most of production and probably did not change until after the 439 blocks were used. What number is your car? I have located 3 consecutive October cars with no build date stamped into the body trim tag. Is yours in the 1200 range?

Budget time as the intake will be expensive and hard to locate. Only a few hundred could have been made at that early time, so an "L88" intake can get the car in the interiem.

Except a L88 intake will have the same problem as a 67 intake, too tall
