Help with paint color
I am in the process of prepairing the undersire of a 1971 hood to be painted.
Can some tell me if original paint was Flat Black / Satin Black / or Gloss Black?
Thanks
David

I think Krylon Semi-Gloss is a good choice compared to the factory original.

Alan

The original paint was semi-flat black.
You'll get a near perfect match with the Krylon.

that's the only thing i've used for black-out areas on corvettes. i have never had anyone dispute the sheen. i understand one can buy the stuff in quarts, but i've never seen it for sale anywhere. a good friend of mine carefully open several rattle cans and dump the contents into a conventional spray gun for more even coverage on large areas. you can bet whatever GM used at the factory, it wasn't any better quality than krylon semi-flat.
