Default Stingray Trivia

Hello. Looking for your input on a little trivia.
I know the '77 Vette has the Crossflags emblem as opposed to the Stingray, but is it not still considered the last year of the 'Stingray'? Depending on what site I search, the most common answer seems to be that the Stingray was from '63 to '77. It does seem kinda silly to still consider it a Stingray without the emblem, but I hate to lose a silly bet over a little ole emblem.....

Default Sting Ray vs Stingray

I don't know where you saw that the 1977 Corvette was called a "Stingray". But the best reference guide I can think of next to memory is the Corvette Black Book by Michael Antonick. 1963-1967 = Sting Ray. 1969-1976 = Stingray. 1968 was not a Stingray...no emblem, 1977 was not a Stingray.....no emblem. Those are the facts, and that's how my memory serves me also. Save the Wave.>George

If you go to C3 general and search this you will get pages and pages of discussion. I'm with LT-1george. Stingray (Sting Ray) was just a badge. It was either put on or not depending on year.

Besides, the first few thousand 77s had no side badges.

I'm with lt1george. We can debate the semantics forever. History of the models show that '68 Corvettes were not adorned with the stingray emblem, neither were '77's.

Despite what Terry Michealis wants you to think, the last Stingray was built in 76, not 67. Now I will agree that the last STING RAY was built in 67, but to me the spelling of the word doesn't not make it a Stingray.

Are you implying that information presented as fact on the internet is inaccurate? Say it ain't so!

I recommend obtaining factual information via empirical research, not online.

Fact: 1968 no Stingray. No emblems except the letters across the back spelling CORVETTE, If anything it`s the clean lines of the Maco Shark concept body and not even close to the rays.

Correct. 68s are C3s and Sharks, but not Stingrays.
