I am researching my corvettes history
its a 1968 convertible 427/435
the former owner has passed away
any leads or help how to proceed is most appriciated

Any original paperwork with the car? A dealer invoice, old window sticker, first bill of sale, car shipper, Protect-O-Plate, etc, etc?
You might want to attempt a title search through your local DMV. Contact them to determine the particulars. Title laws vary from state to state and confidentiality laws some times enter the picture.
You could also join the NCRS and advertize for information in their publications (free to NCRS members).
