Default 68 Restoration

I am in the process of restoring a 68 vert. The body has been stripped and all repairs are completed. Do I need to use a gel coat prior to primer and paint? can I use an epoxy primer instead? any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

Hi Chip,
Why don't you send a PM to ROAD RACE VETTE (Stan). He really KNOWS about painting Corvettes and is always willing to answer questions.
Regards,
Alan

There was no gelcoat on factory panels, so you can probably skip it. Any good primer-sealer would suffice.
