'69 battery compartment
Is the '69 battery compartment available somewhere? The one I have seems to have suffered from a leaking battery and was very poorly repaired. So before I start to repair that mess....

I assume you are talking about using resin and mat to "graft" a new lower half onto your battery compartment. I recommend you give "The Corvette Image" a call. Their catalog doesn't show a replacement for the battery compartment, but they may be able to make you a "hand laid" piece to your specification.
The back side of the hand laid piece will be rough, but after the compartment has been installed, you can do some smoothing of the backside and the joint if you are patient and don't mind a lot of tedious sanding. Order some tinted resin for the repair while you have them on the telephone.
