Patrick on mine I bagged & tagged them as I removed them . (the shims)
Then I cleaned them and replaced them where I found them and sprayed some clear on them. The instructions that came with my new tie rod sleeves said to measure the old ones from grease fitting to grease fitting and to match them with approx. the same amount thread showing at each end .This will get you in the ballpark till it goes to the alignment shop.
