Macster, Wisconsin Chapter moved, but here is their new address:
http://www.ncrswi.bizland.com/

The birthday calculator was missing some shark years, but I haven't checked lately to see if it is now complete. Nice tip there on exhaust manifolds.

Thanks, Chuck. They still don't have 1969 thru 1973 so I'm outta luck. According to the page, those years are coming soon. I remembered to bookmark this time.

The exhaust manifold tip sounds interesting but came too late for me.

Mac -- you can use your Time/Build Code, a perpetual calendar, and end of month production numbers for your year and come up with her birthday more accurately than most birthday calculators. The only sleeper in the puzzle are the known work stoppages at the plant.

I did an EXCEL spreadsheet using the end of month figures. I believe it is better than the birthday book.

Thanks, guys. Once I get my 73 back in my hands, I'll grab those code and start crunching. I figured, just guessing from the VIN, it's a early car but we'll see.

Mikey, my man, I thought you were mad at us! Where have you been? :D

What do you mean "allowed back in here"? Well, I guess you didn't get the word...this Forum has been annexed by the Canajuns. It's now the Canajun Factory Correct Resto...Larry is "The Prez", and Curly is the "Secretary of State", and Moe, well Moe is Missing in Action.

Hey, Mike! I heard you were running with another crowd but as far as I'm concerned, you're welcome, unless you step outta line- then I'll have to take steps!

RonD has my Vette, doing the final touches after the frame off. You know, checking to make sure the nuts  are tight, everything's buttoned down and ready for driving. Once I get the beastie back, I'll get the numbers.

Ron has a lot of his plate so I don't think he's getting much computer time. He's putting in long hours, trying to clear up some of his jobs. Of course, my timing in bringing back my 73 for the final check-over wasn't the greatest for him either but I was so glad to finally get it back from the bodyshop (long story) I didn't stop to think about his schedule. Ron said he wanted it for a few days to go through his 'check-list' and make sure everything's torqued down and tight.

I told Ron to get himself a helper and maybe even a secretary but you know these guys who wanna do it all themselves. I hope he doesn't burn himself out!

Guys,

Surprised to hear the stories flying around, makes for a good laugh anyway.

I have had no access to Corvette Forum from my work computer for several months. This site (and many others) was deemed 'inappropriate and unnecessary' by our corporate IT geeks and was blocked out by a firewall. For what ever reason, the NCRS board and Vetteheads was allowed through. These same geeks gradually turned up the filter to the point that even legitimate work related sites were being blocked. Even our sister company's site in Hartford was blocked! This filter 'magically' disappeared last week and amazingly the world continues to exists.

I still have access problems at home though (as I always did) , the combination of Zone Alarm and Communicator 4.7 just does not make using CF very easy. I have to hit 'reload' at least twice to see anything, and more often than not, the screen just freezes and won't move.

This is my third attempt at sending this message..................

Seems more and more sites only work well with Explorer.

Resistance is futile.................You will be assimilated..........................We are Microsoft............................... ....

Stories, Mikey? What stories? I only thought that because you didn't come around anymore. Someone is spreading stories? Better email them to me to see how many are true. :D :D

Mike, I have always used two browsers. For my email and most of my surfing, I use Communicator, but for the old NCRS boards and Corvette Forum I have always used Explorer as a dedicated browser for a couple of reasons.

First, using a dedicated browser allows me to select the home page as the FCR Forum Index page (formerly used the NCRS Forum index page) while maintaining Yahoo Finance as home page on Communicator. When I open a browser, what I want to see first is right there ready to go. Another reason is that I only needed to save cookies on Explorer, because the old NCRS Forum needed that to remember which posts had already been viewed. Of course, that is no longer a problem for me. :D

You are right about Microsoft. I can see it with the transition to Windows 98. With Windows 95, and also with 98, I continually had/have problems when trying to use Communicator. You would be surfing along, and all of the sudden, Windows says Communicator has committed an unforgiveable error, and as a consequence will be taken out behind the shed and shot. Now, they have added new dimensions...Windows 98 has begun to hassle Real Player which competes with their Windows Media Player. Constantly, Windows says "You don't have all the right Real Player programs", when I can go to "My Computer" and there the aforementioned file is right there biggern hell. Bill Gates deserved that pie in his face, and more. Explorer works well with ZoneAlarm; well, at least until Microsoft comes up with something that is in direct competition with ZA. :D

You are right about these Canajuns, though, they are multiplying like bunnies. You let a couple of 'em in, and then, Whoa Momma!!! First thing you know, all you hear about is how good their freakin' Olympic hockey team is, how good their Molson beer is, how they are annexing the Newnited States, blah, blah, blah. :D :D :D

Good to see you back, Mike. You always had a way of adding either intelligence and reason, or as appropriate, entertainment to any exchange. I hope we see you here often. As you know, Mike, I am only kidding our fine upstanding Canajuns, Larry and Curly. :jester
