Did anyone see that 091 coil sell on Ebay this morning for $450? I thought the one that sold for $200 a couple of weeks ago for $200 was high!!!
Pretty soon guys will be parting out perfectly good cars just because of the parts prices!!

John, that is the definition of inflation in Corvette terms...too much money chasing too few parts. :D
Selling or buying on ebay is a hit-or-miss proposition. If you don't have enough interested bidders, you can end up giving your stuff away unless you specify a starting bid (presumably the minimum you'll take for the part and feel good about it). On the other hand, if you are interested in buying something you really need and are determined to have it, then all it takes is one other determined bidder like yourself to drive the price to incredible levels.
When I sense I am in that position, I usually let the other guy have it when it surpasses what I think it's worth. There are people out there that have no idea what this stuff is really worth, and like I said, you only have to be bidding against one of them.
Chuck is right! I buy a lot of stuff on eBay if the price is right. If not someone else gets a part they overpaid for. Decide on your max price you would pay before your first bid, if it goes over that price just take a deep breath and walk away.
Chuck, you are right, but in this case, I didn't think a 091 coil is even that hard to come by. I have 3 originals in my shop, I guess I better get them cleaned up, painted and listed on Ebay!

A pair of NOS '69 Camaro sill plates (which are still available from GM for $90.00) sold about ten days ago for $2,550.00. Lessee, if I part out my original/unrestored/unmolested '69 Z/28, I can do a hostile takeover of Citibank and head for the Cayman Islands........ :D
