Ken,
If the rest of the car is compltely stock, and if you're concerned about its value as a 'stock' Corvette, then yes, it would detract from the value. How much is difficult to predict, but I've seen numbers quoted in the $5000 range or as a percentage, maybe 10-15%. Realistically, though, if everything else is stock, it shouldn't affect the value more than the cost to return it to stock configuration (colour).
It's all a moot point if you own the car to enjoy it yourself. 'Have it YOUR way...' as the BK ads say...
good luck,
grant

Remember that when you change the interior colour how many interior pieces will need to be replaced or dyed. It's a major undertaking to dye everything and, if done incorrectly, can lead to problems. Surface prep is more than just a good wash-up, whereas if you stay with the same colour, a good wash-up will likely resurrect most of your interior parts, so from this lazy man's point of view, a colour change is a hassle.
As for losing value, unless your car is completely factory correct, I doubt it would make a huge difference. You will gain value by refurbishing the interior regardless what colour you choose.

Maybe you could find a descent interior from a donor car and keep your original parts for sometime later...if you change you mind and want it back to original. it does happen :yesnod:
I would think it would be easier finding black interior parts would be than finding brown.
