It's probably been covered before, but right now I am too lazy to search :) .
I have a friend with a Panama Yellow 58. The side coves are painted white. BUT they are not painted all the way to the front wheel wells. We looked through some books and found other cars with this "partial cove paint".
I told him that I had read something either here or in a resto type book that if the coves were painted from GM that they were painted all the way.
What is correct? All the way,or was partial an option??
All coves that were factory painted were painted all the way to the wheelwell. Unfortunately, painting the recessed area only, seems to be more attractive on some color combinations in the 58 to 61's that are designed in a way that gives us this possibility. If originality is the priority, then it's all gotta get painted.
