AC Brackets

Is John Deere Blitz black the correct shade of black for the painted AC brackets on a '70? Or do I need something glossier? Thanks. ~Juliet

I used Krylon satin finish black. The brackets passed judging last fall at the Texas regional wiht no deducts.

Thanks Bob. Is Krylon Satin Finish glossier than "Krylon Semi-Flat"? I know what semi-flat looks like, and it's really close to the John Deere Blitz Black. I just have the feeling these should be a bit glossier than Blitz Black.... ~Juliet

Juliet, my error, should have said semi-flat. I compared the finish on one of my original brackets with several attempts at spraying using a variety of black satin and semi-flat finishes. The Krylon came the closest to the original color and as I mentioned, the judges liked it--at least once! WHo knows what they'll say next time aorund with a different crew.
