Here it is. Finally done. It's a Superior Lift. VERY nice folks to deal with. Installation went very well. I picked it up at the truck terminal. Used my car trailer to get it home.
Their installer came to the house on Wednesday. Spent about 10 hours getting it up and running. Total cost? $2995.00 for the lift, which included aluminum ramps, the jack bridge, 3 drip trays, and truck freight. Cost of the installation? $400.00. Well worth it IMHO. :) Chuck
Plenty of clearance. I can put it all the way up, but decided to keep in one "notch" below. At the highest setting, when you raise it a tad more to release the locks, the top touches the ceiling.
Works very nicely....smooth, etc. I want to play with it a bit more, but have been "distracted" by Hurricane Isabel. Lost power for 12 hours...lots of downed trees and branches in my yard. Lots of clean-up. Chuck
Re: My Completed Lift Installation (Chuck Gongloff)
Chuck,
Look'in Good. Its been a long wait and soon you will wonder how you lived without it. Don't try the 54 on it as those C1 cars are quite a bit taller. Good Luck w/ it.
Re: My Completed Lift Installation (Chuck Gongloff)
Chuck, on one of my lifts that I store the 56 on top, I can't raise it to the last(highest) position because of the hard top on the 56. To make sure, during a"senior moment", that I didn't ram the top through the ceiling, I cut a 1" ID gal. pipe to 5" long and squared the ends and deburred the ID. I slipped the pipe over the hyd cyl shaft so the cyl rod bottoms out against the end cap 5" from being raised to the top. Cheap insurance in case I were to get distracted while raising the lift.
I love it so far. Have had it up and down a number of times. Brought Mrs. Chuck out to check it out. Showed her how EASY it would be for her to get under each car and clean/detail the frames.
I'm truly amazed that she wasn't interested. :)
Haven't put a car up with the hood up yet. Gotta keep reminding myself. I'm looking for some high stools so I can sit under the cars and play. Chuck
Congrats Chuck,
Don't you just wonder how you ever got by without one? I couldn't imagine going back to lying flat on my back for hours on end ever again!
Regards, John McGraw
At 56 years old, I'm not as young as I used to be. :) Still feel the same "mentally", but I just can't handle all the "up's and down's" and crawling around anymore. After a day of crawling around on the floor, I know I'll need a few 800mg. Motrin's the next day. Chuck
