Default code 72 '79 "Corvette Red" vs. '76 "Red"

I have a '79 that originally came "Corvette Red" from the factory. The previous owner had it painted a Pontiac bright white. It's gorgeous, and a compliment magnet to be sure, but it's not the vehicle's original color, and it's bugging me. I have no immediate plans to repaint the car, because that would be like throwing money away, BUT, someday if I do have to repaint it I want it returned to red. So, I'm trying to get a good idea of how a '79 Corvette with fresh or well very maintained factory correct "Corvette Red" paint looks. I've seen one that was perfect match for what my car was, but it was not well maintained, so the paint was NOT doing it for me. There's a perfect award winning red '76 I've seen at a few Vette shows. In my Black Book it lists both the '76 and '79 reds as "code 72", but then it says the '79 is "Corvette Red" whereas the '76 is listed just as "Red". Is the '78 & '79 "Corvette Red a different hue than the '76 "Red"? If not, I assume the '76 will be a good example of what my car should look like? If it is a different hue, is "Corvette Red" far from today's "Torch Red", which I love? Anybody know?
