Default 67 SB hood

First, thank you for the responses on my 65/66 BB hood post. Very helpful. It got me to thinking about the hood on my 67 300 HP.

It is an NOS 3857463. Very nice hood but has holes in the inside panel for 66-style hood emblem installation (not the skin, just the inner). Part of me says that GM would have left them in to make it backward compatible for service vs. creating a new item number solely for 67 production, but I don't know.

Do original correct 67 SB hoods have any emblem tool clearance holes in the inner? Thank you.

Yes, they do - my original '67 327/300 also has the socket clearance holes in the inner panel for the '66 emblem location; probably didn't make sense for GM to pay to rework the mold from '66 to '67 just to eliminate the holes, and leaving them in gave them a hood that was backward-compatible to '65 without having to drill holes in the inner panel for the '66 application.
