Default engine identification help

I have two 4 bolt main small blocks I'm trying to identify.

1. 3970010 , V0518TMT , E187

2. 3892657 , 7N169826 , VOIIOMS , L278

Hi, your #2 block has a information problem. This is a SS-350 Camaro block installed in a 1967 Camaro, serial # 7N169826. The stated casting date is L278 (Dec 27, 1968). This is not possible!! I think if you examine the casting date closer, you will find it is really L276 (Dec 27, 1966) making it correct for 1967 production. By the the way, this was the first 350 CI motor developed by Chevrolet and was only used in 1967 Camaros. It is highly sought after by Camaro restorers.
