Default Shell URT Advanced Unleaded Race Fuel Available @ Norris Motorsports - Indy Area

Hey All,

I recieved my first order of Shell URT Advanced and have a 55 gallon drum and a 5 gallon pail available at the shop. The fuel from the drum can be used for in house tuning as well as for pick up in your own container.

The cost is $79.95 per 5 gallon pail or $12.95 per gallon from the drum.

Shell URT Advanced is an unleaded fuel that has shown to have better knock resistance then VP C16 and VP MS109 and has the same tuning properties as far as stoich as unleaded pump gas. So changing from pump gas to race gas is a relatively simple tune change.

The Ford folks running higher boost cars are showing nice gains over C16 and here is a thread with some videos and info:

For the lower boost street folks that want to try to maximize their setup from time to time, the Shell URT Advance will mix easily with unleaded pump gas and a timing change and gains from 50-150 HP.

I can also drop ship drums of fuel if need be.

Here is some more info from another thread.

There are some new unleaded race fuels Shell make that cover 100-116 octane (3 different fuels) and even though the highest octane of the 3 will take more timing than C16, it actually can net a small gain in a car with a STOCK timing curve. Not enough to make it worth buying race fuel with a stock timing curve, but enough to not have the "timing retard" effect old school race fuels have.

Here are a couple videos. The first two are comparison of Shell "URT Advanced" vs. VP C16
The 3rd is the effect Shell URT Advanced had on a car tuned for 93.

This is the video that's most relevant here (below). This car is still tuned for 93, yet makes more power on Shell URT Advanced, which was demonstrated to accept more timing and make more power than VP C16 (a 116 octane leaded fuel) in the two above videos.

So feel free to ask any questions and thanks for checking it out.

Great news, especially as race season kicks in. Do you have booth space at the NMRA event in Indy and do you plan to sell fuel there?

Hi Jim,

I got your message when I was out of town and will call you later this week. I believe I will have space at Indy so we should be good to go.
