How do you apply for a moderator job?

On the other 2 sites I moderate, I was asked to mod. I was always under the impression that you need to be chosen

Admins and moderators watch and see other member actions and when it comes time for picking someone, their activity, demeanor, and tenure on the forum are taken into account.

Or you could have a specialty, like patience in the Help section

when answering questions that gets you "selected".

There are a lot of factors involved too when deciding it is time to add a new moderator.

But there are no set "rules". Our administrators decide when a moderator is needed and who they may be.
