I see some posts that appear to be from members who are not supporting members, and they have photos in their posts. ?? By the way, the supporting member idea seems fair to me. I will consider what level to do, but I am curious about how it works because of what I just described.

My post above (obviously) has a photo embedded in the post.
An attachment displays as a thumbnail (small picture) that requires you to click it to see the full size version. I believe a thumbnail lets you attach items other than pictures such as Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, etc.
Thank you. So I can post a photo as you have done without being a supporting member, but I have to host it somewhere which, I believe, is normal practice.
And, frankly, it was not "obvious" to me that your photo was embedded in the post. That's the kind of confusion that occurs, not so much when the process is not understood, but when the language is not understood.

It does have to be hosted somewhere on the Internet.

Thanks, and regards
Sorry, but I said "obviously" only because it's a fairly good sized picture and hard to miss, not that it was "obviously" embedded.
An attachment will appear as a small picture, usually at the bottom of a post just above the members signature stuff if they have that turned on.
