I'm a member of a handful of forums, and one option I've seen implemented is the "one sig pic per thread/page" stipulation. However, it's automatic. When I post in a thread, I will see my sig pic the first time I post in that thread, but not thereafter. The one in particular I'm thinking of right now is Vbulletin, just like this one.

Could be something you guys could set up.

 

A problem that CF had in the past was bandwidth when it came to displaying signatures in every post. Some members had sigs that were best described as "huge by wide". That also led to excessive width of the page as it is displayed which requires horizontal scrolling and the sheer size of the pic in Mb caused the bandwidth and disk storage problems.

The sigs for the most part are smaller now, but when you see sigs in every post it can make it difficult to navigate through a thread.

IMHO, the current process of having to check the "Shopw your signature" box for each post is working fine and helps with viewing the threads. It's even the first box below the reply text window so it's easy to find. Other forums tend to bury similar boxes so they require some effort to find.
