Why does it take so long to load the forum web pages!?!?!?!
I am in IT, on a T1 line, and have an awesome computer, and it takes 4-6 seconds to load all the javascript/flash and other crap on every click in the forum. I know this is code on the page because my CPU utilization goes to 100% with every page loaded!
Please turn off some of the crap on these pages so we can surf expeditiously!
Looks like another issue with connecting to some of the ad servers. I see a lot of "Connecting to ad.doubleclick.net" a lot lately. There's one or two other ad servers that appear to be causing the occasional slow page load.
Are you guys seeing parts of the webpage load, then waiting for the rest to display? I have not noticed any performance issue while browsing with FireFox. If you're seeing the above and using IE, IE can tend to take longer to render content whereas FireFox tries to render the content immediately.
I'm using Firefox 3.0.11 with Adblocker Plus. When I double click on a shortcut to C6 General or Off Topic on my desktop, the page loads in about 5-6 seconds with no ads.

What I still occasionally see is that part of the CF page loads which is typically the vendor ads on the left side, the top of the page and the button bar (red line).
The main part of the page where the threads/posts appear sometimes takes some time to appear. This area appears gray and blank. It's at this point where I see the "Waiting for ad.doubleclick.net" Is that hangup because of the tiem it takes for the doubleclick ad server to connect to the CF servers?
If so, then I would expect the problem to be the ads and connectivity to the ad server rather than the CF itself.
