I also have problems now ever since the site was attacked.
Most of the Avatars do not load either now
Even though it only seems to be this site, I find it seems to be with the IE or computer settings.
If I am on my Laptop, I don't have the problems.. only with my desk top computer.
Have changed a few settings, but no improvement yet.

Sounds like maybe your laptop is using Firefox. Switch your desktop to Firefox and see the difference. I've got both Firefox 3.14 and IE 7 and Firefox is a lot faster. I also have Firefox set to automatically clear the cache when I close it. It does seem to make a difference.

At the very least, clear the cache on your desktop.

Slow. Seeing the "Timed Out" boxes...

Running Firefox. No issues anywhere else.

Same here, for a change. Timed out when trying to mark forums read. First problem in several days.

For me, it's been weeks. At about noon, Pacific Time, this site just seems to crawl.

Thanks for the info.
I do not have Firefox on any of my computers.
I'm not a computer guru and usually leave well enough alone unless there's a problem
So, I cleared the cache and adjusted a few settings which still did not improve the performance.
But,...
since then, I "just" received a free with my subscription, Norton upgrade program which changed it to "2010 Norton" virus protection.
The new program is up and running and now all is well with this site.
All the avatars display now and the site is running great without any delays or hang time

You may not really be kicked out.

1. Start by deleting your old browser's corvette forum cookie.
2. Login again. Be sure to click on the option to save your login info.
3. If/when it seems to kick you out, just click on a forum link (go to a specific forum). It will show your username and the fact that you really are logged in, after you do this.

Thx. I probably wouldn't have remembered it if I hadn't done it, following someone else's instructions.

I DON'T want to remain logged in after I close the window. I want to see what is currently being discussed before I log in.

I just logged in like I regularly do and it "kicked" me off. Logged back in and it did again, and then once more.

I've been working 12 hour nights this week and wanted to check out my previous posts and now they're all marked as "read"

ARGHHHHHH

Skip the last half of step 2. We were told by someone else, and it worked for me, that you should click on a forum link to whatever forum you want after it seemingly kicks you out the first time.

Try it. Don't keep logging back in. Just click on a link after the first time.

I did what they said, but it kept kicking me out. I would finally get a dialogue box, fill out a sentence, and when I submitted it, it asked me to sign in again. I am not having any problems today.

I don't even want to get on the forum these days. I log in and hit remember password. It thanks me for logging in but then I'm not really logged in 90% of the time. What a pain this forum has become!

Did you try the instructions above that seem to work for most people here? I've not had any problems for the last 2-3 days after doing this.

I don't think anyone should be getting logged out anymore since the changes were reverted (atleast for the root links).

You may have a cookie issue with your browser. I would singly delete the cookie for CF and revisit and log back in to get a new cookie. I know I suggested this before, but the issue turned out to be planned maintenance that I forgot about. Since then, things should have been returned back to normal and so if you're still having an issue, it very well could be a browser cookie issue as they are not uncommon.
