Cleared all cookies and the problem went away, temporarily. I'm having same issue again today.

Edit: It happened again while I was making this post. Only happens on CF.

I've not had any issues myself for months. I don't clear my cookies on a regular basis, but I do clear my browser's cache on browser exist as there really is little need to have an accumulated cache these days with broadband.

With a corrupt cookie being a fairly not unusual issue from time to time, for any website, and given the large amount of users CF has, it is bound that some will experience the same issue.

I would advise to make sure you've deleted all CF cookies as there is actually more than one cookie that CF uses. I'd also make sure no 3rd party security software is interfering.

What browser are you using?

If you are still experiencing an issue with being logged out, you need to start by deleting your CF cookie(s). You could simply delete all your cookies, but then you'll lose auto login and other cookie-based site perferences if you do so. Therefore, I always suggest you search and manually delete the CF cookie(s).

Once the above is done, then revisit this site and log back in. Make sure the Remember Me option is selected. This will give you a new cookie.

It's actually quite common for a browser's cookie to become corrupt over time. When it does, other sites you visit may not be affected at the same time.

If this does not work, then you may have a 3rd party software that is blocking or interfering with the cookies.
For reference, I've been logged into CF for the past few months without getting logged out.

I cleared the cookies and same oh, same oh.

I can log in but if I do no action in the forum, it logs me off within 5 minutes. Have to log back in.

I was without Comcast wireless and had to use another computer. This was approx 2 weeks ago. I am back on my laptop with Comcast broadband.

Wondered if it's from the different IP addresses, different connection, or, like you suggested.....another software interfering.

There is a cookie timeout setting of 30 minutes. If 30 minutes passes of inactivity on your account, you are considered finished on the forums. All posts from 30 minutes prior to that time are marked as Read. That is normal.

When a user selects the "Remember Me" option and logs in, after 30 minutes of inactivity and they are considered finished, when they return to the forum, they should automatically be logged back in. That is the function of the "Remember Me" option by placing login information in a cookie for your browser so that you're automatically logged back into the forum without having to enter user name and password.

If you are getting logged out and must re-enter your user name and password, you either have a corrupt browser cookie (common from time to time), you aren't using the "Remember Me" option, are you may have some security setting or software that is interfering or clearing the Corvette Forum cookies.

I can login, but get kicked out when I reply to a post.

Moments ago (7:30pm PST), I was replying to a thread and was kicked out. I had to log back in with user name/password. This has been going on for a few days. "Something" is not remembering this information.

I checked my browser settings, all looks OK. I haven't noticed this (not saving username/passw0rd) with any other accounts, but then again, I'm not replying to posts in my bank account either.

Have you tried:
1. Log out.
2. Delete your forum cookie.
3. Log in and check the "Remember me" box.

Fixed. I had a heck of a time with this. Had a virus, cleaned everything up and eventually had to reset my Internet Explorer.

I keep on being kicked out after about 5 minutes. I've played with my computer settings but I don't think anything on my computer is wrong. New to the site but I'm on lots of other car sites and don't have this issue. First post, lets see if it goes through or logs me out.

I'm also having trouble with it logging me out almost every time I sign on, change pages or go to a different section. It would only happen every couple days a few months ago, but now it logs me out twenty or thirty times a day.

Cookies cleared, signed out, no virus, etc...

You either have a problem with a cookie that your browser uses, or you have some security/3rd party software that is blocking or interfering with the cookie. Note that CF uses multiple cookies.

Also, in case you're not doing this, make sure the Remember Me option is selected when you log in.
