Can someone tell me why I can not attach images or files?

Attachments are reserved for those who have Premium Memberships:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/payments.php

You can, however, still post pictures and embed them into posts if you have the pictures hosted outside of CF, or use the Photo Album for (limited) storage.
