It would appear that the outtage affected their e-mail, too. Several e-mails I sent them bounced during the same period.

FWIW, I've been experiencing some pretty slow load times on pages the past four days. The loads seem to be quicker for me with Firefox tonight.

There was some network issues, which meant that there were periods of time when the site wasn't accessible at all, was accessible but very slow, or normally accessible for a short period of time.

For the past hour or so, things have seemingly appeared to return back to normal.

As far as monitoring, the sites are automatically monitored for downtime as well as performance, so if something does go out of spec, generally, notices are sent for review and/or action. Of course things can and sometimes do go wrong or unexpectedly.

What browser are you using? What happens if you don't refresh the page 6 to 12 times and just let it run? What exactly occurs? What does the status bar of the browser show?

I don't have enough information to help diagnose, but based on others that are reporting normal performance throughout this, as well as myself seeing normal performance (minus Tuesday's abnormal events), there's a lot of area from DNS issues with your ISP/DNS provider, packet loss between you and CF, 3rd party security software or other specific to your environment.

I'm not trying to add gas to the fire, just making an observation.....

I started having issues with slow loading of the CF and LS1 tech about 4 weeks ago. I was using a Dell Inspiron, Windows Vista, and IE 7, I believe. Then everything slowed to a grinding halt, which was diagnosed to my hard drvie going bad. No biggie, I bought a new laptop.

I now have a new HP Pavilion, Windows 7, and whatever the latest IE is. CF and LS1 Tech, and only them, are still "slow loaders" for me.....

I've noticed the "My Recent Topix" search function is having issues and has been for a long time now. Instead of the normal page, I'll get a page not found, then back up and sometimes its there and sometimes it'll say I have to wait x number of seconds between searches.

There is a known issue with the My Recent Topics not always working correctly under certain situations, which is known about and is in the queue for a resolution.

Do you have Firefox web browser available, or could you consider installing Firefox web browser, so that it could help suggest where the issue might be based on the outcome in your situation?

I have to admit that my computer skills aren't what they should be. I'd feel FAR more comfortable assembling an LS engine, even though I've never done one, than trying to solve computer issues. What usually happens is that I either install/uninstall something, get crossed up somehow or other, then spend DAYS getting back to square one.

Having said that, what would be involved, as well as any advantages, of running Firefox instead of the IE that I've been using for the last 3 years?

I am using Firefox 5.0 and have checked on IE 8 to see if it is the browser or not.

Over the last week, what I have found is that CF frequently gts hung up in the loading. ibserv.com and google.com seem to be some of the last items I see to load.

Restarting the link to load will go through that again, and I frequently see facebook.com trying to load.

I'll watch for more details this week.

If I do nothing when it is loading and hangs up, it will eventually time out and go to the page not found, try again.

Occasionally, hitting the refresh button will bring it in, but usually hitting it two or three times simply hangs also, in which i change to a known good site (yahoo.com) and then click to load forums.corvetteforum.com again. Usually it goes through on this try.

If you're having trouble connecting to all those sites (google.com, ibsrv.com and facebook.com) then it starts to suggest it may be on your end (e.g., between you and your ISP).

When you visit CF, you are also retrieving/connecting to those sites for additional content/features. Those connections made are between you and those supplemental sites - the connection does not go through CF. So if the process stalls when connecting to those sites, even if while on CF, then it's more likely near your end or between you and your ISP as CF can't do much about connection issues outside of CF (facebook.com, google.com, etc.).

I'm also a Firefox 5 user and have not had those issues.

I had the same probs with my recent topics a while back. I just have to wait a while for it to load.

In general, web pages at this domain take far longer to load than anywhere else on the internet for me. Quite often I just go to another site rather than wait for corvetteforum.com.

There are plenty of vendors selling the same stuff at other places on the web.

Except for yesterday's down time of the forum servers, Firefox 5.0, and now Firefox 6.0, both with AdBlockerPlus and an ISP providing me with 10 Mbs download, this forum loads for me in 5-6 seconds every time after double clicking on a desktop shortcut.

IE9 has been okay the few times I've used it, but I understand many here have had problems with IE 8, not sure about IE 9.

Don't think this would a factor, but my PC's got Windows Vista, Service Pack 2, with a 64-bit operating system and 6 GB of RAM.

I've been watching this evening to see what else is slowing down. It looks like loading a.postrelese.com, iblcdn.com (??), photobucket.com, and several others that I didn't catch.

The real issue is I am NOT going to these sites; CF is.

This is stuff CF is loading in the process of loading each page.

I don't go to these.

I can also go to those and they come up nearly instantly, so it isn't them holding things up, it is CF trying to load them before loading the full CF page.

The route CF travels to access those external sites is different than the routes from me, and this is why I can have no issue loading Goggle.com but when CF tries to pull Goggle.com in while I'm loading CF, it can be delayed.

I bet my path to google.com is a lot different than yours.
