Default quote wrap

When attempting to wrap a paragraph in [QUOTE], a window displays, indicating message is too short. I can move either quote wrap in,... one word, and the function works. Sometimes it works correctly.

I'm not sure I'm completely following "move either quote wrap in,...one word" part so if you can clarify or show an example, that may help.

But in summary, words in a quote aren't counted toward the minimum character count that a post needs to be deemed valid - which is 3 characters.

How now, brown
cow.

If I move the [/QUOTE] to the right of the period, the quoted phrase will not be boxed.
Does that make sense?

IOW,
When doing a multi-paragraph paste, the text will be boxed only if I move either quote command to a point within the pasted text.

I'm still a bit confused and would probably need an example. As you can see below, I can quote paragraphs fully as others are able to do as as well:

How now, brown cow.
How about now, a brown cow.
I can't see any issue with the quoting system and suspect there is a misunderstanding or misuse that is causing the issue.

One issue I see, atleast in these past two messages of yours, is that you're referring to the terms [quote] or [/quote] inside your message.

When the software sees those tags above, it is expecting you to be quoting something, and hence, it is being executed and trying to quote text. This messes up the quoting system. You can't refer to those tags without them being executed unless you surround them with a set of noparse tags. This is how I can refer to [quote] or [/quote] code above, without it being executed, because I surround each instance with a set of noparse tags to tell the software to disable executing the code and just print it as-is.

To look at this from a different angle, is below an example of something you're trying to do? Basically a quote within a quote?
