What browser and what version of browser?

If you click on the Back Arrow twice, does it work?

The back arrow does depend on your browser as it is your browser that stores the webpages you've visited.

Been having the same issue this week as well. Either from IE 9 or 10. Have not tried Firefox or Chrome yet.

I am using IE9 and I have the same problem - sometimes when I use the back button it just freezes up and I have to click back on the forum section tabs on the left of the screen to get back to the thread listings. I've also noticed that when the back button does work, sometimes it takes me to the correct thread listing and other times it takes me to either a previous post in the same section or to another section altogether.

Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem. It just started a couple of days ago. Anybody have any answers?

This is a problem with the ads hosted on this site and the forum software. When you have the problem, hit the drop down next to your navigation buttons and you will see that your browser has been hijacked by an ad on the page you are on.

Just happened to me, I have an example right here:

The information in the screen capture helps.

We will investigate.

Thanks

To each his own, but why are y'all using the back button to begin with. When you click back to get to the forum list of threads, the thread you just read still shows unread doesn't it? Why not click on the forum link just under the last post of a thread after you've read that far? It takes you back to the thread list and shows that thread as having been read unless there are other posts you haven't read yet.

Silly response. The back button is there for a reason.
If I am perusing the for sale section and click on an ad, once I'm done I want to hit the back button to get back to the last ad I looked at and continue, not start at the top again.

Is this happening all the time? Specific forums? A screen capture above shown it in the C5 Parts For Sale/Wanted. You can see I was also browsing that section and couldn't replicate. I normally use Firefox and haven't seen the issue with Firefox. Browsing around in IE 9 for a while without any add-ons, I see the history is working correctly as shown in the attachment.

This might help you - its a well known problem.

http://trioniclabs.com/2012/02/back-button-mystery/

This can probably be worked around at the users end by adding ad.doubleclick.net to you local hosts file as 127.0.0.1.
