I was now able to back out of any threads in C1/C2 "Parts" and "Tech"; "hovering" the cursor produced a readable line or two.
HOWEVER: I was NOT able to "BACK" out of the "diecast" section
Off Topic continuea to work well - as it has - with NO problems.

I'm not computer smart is this back arrow problem related to the two pop ups I get on corvette forum page only ? I only started getting pop ups about two weeks ago. I have pop up blocker on and still get these. This question might need to be a new post if so sorry. Question is can I restrict web page that is sending pop up, if so how do I do I that ?
I experienced it on and off one day about three weeks ago, but not since. I guess it's more difficult to address issues that don't seem to affect all of us or affect us consistently.
I've never seen a problem with clicking back But maybe it's because of the sections I frequent? Just OT, PR&C, the C4 and C5 sections, and Autocross and Road Racing.
If those who are having the issue could screen capture the entire page to show the specific ads when the issue develops, that will help ensure the issue gets resolved. The issue is being investigated.

No it is not ridiculous.. no one has mentioned the site may be under attack... the term ridiculous is unfair.. after all ,this great site is free you don't pay to be here maybe if you did paid to be here they would have more sophisticated protection.,...Believe me they are working on this... I've done a little research and found this issue was here in December as well, I hope they get it sorted out but would not call this issue ridiculous.. this is a very popular website with a lot of traffic , it would be a big feather in a hackers cap to attack this network. if it was a simple fix, it would be fixed, so just have patience, no one wants this situation to go on... some of these hacker encryptions are very very sophisticated.
Keep the faith

I've got the same problem, yesterday and today-
Can't click back a page about 99.9% of the time.
Also, the preview of a thread that comes from hovering on the thread title (before opening it) is also inop about 95% of the time now.
I've been here for 12 years and this is the first time the problem has happened for more than an hour or two.
Running Windows 7 and IE9, same as I've been doing for the last year with no problems.
Also, no problems yesterday or today on other websites and other forums.
EDIT:
I just tried Regional- Great Lakes, and could click back ok. But Autocross/Road Racing was locked up like the others.

I'm posting this one from my laptop, which is also IE9 but Vista instead of W7.
The click back feature seems to be working normally on this laptop. I tried switching between the two computers several times within a few minutes, the click back works fine on the laptop Vista but totally dead on the desktop Windows 7.
We have been looking into this issue since yesterday, and it seems to be an IE problem with one of the ads running on the site. We are hoping to get it resolved asap, but in the meantime if you use another browser (Chrome or Firefox) you should not experience this.
