That said, the YT tags used in the toolbar are the old legacy way of embedded YouTubes and required posting the YouTube video ID between the set of YT tags and nothing more.
Today, you simply need to paste the entire URL without any tags inside a post and the software will automatically convert it to embed.
I did some checking and everything looks correct and searching for posts that use the legacy YT tags appears to be working correctly.
Are you using any browser extensions? Like Flashblock? Are you posting the correct portion of the URL inside a set of YT tags? Remember, you only post the video ID, which is the string after the v= in the URL if using the YT tags.
Like I said, the new method does not use the YT tags and just requires a complete URL of the YT being posted.

One night, I kept editing it, and ended up using the Insert Link instead, and that worked then, but haven't been able to repeat success.
JT, I am fairly new in the big scheme if things but been on forums for a LONG time. I too had the same problem as the OP the first time and I was successful for the simple reason that I too just tried using the URL link and it worked. BUT I had looked at the "HOW-TO embed a YouTube video" and as you can see its totally out dated, seeing as how it was written in 2009. It would be very helpful if someone would update the Sticky to something useful for the newbee's ...... or us old folks! lol
I will update the Guide. However, the old method outlined still works. The problem that sometimes occurs, and the OP confirmed this was their mistake, is that when you use the YT tags you do not use the entire URL. You simply use the YouTube Video ID surrounded by the YT tags.

OH Ok.....but if nothing else.....all you see are broken links for all of the pictures in the OP of the HOW-TO
