Default Regarding post editing....

It seemed to me, that if you spotted a mistake in a post you made, you had a couple of minutes to edit the post without getting the addition at the bottom, saying the post was edited.

Yesterday, I posted something, realized as soon as I hit "submit", that I had misspelled a word. I immediately realized it, and hit the "edit" icon, to fix the mistake. I fixed the error within 10-15 seconds, yet the post read that I had edited it. I thought it was a fluke.

It happened to me again today. Is this something new?

Yes, it was a change made for us to troubleshoot.

"JT", maybe I'm a little dense....do you mean that this is happening by mistake, and will change back to the way it's been in the past, or is this the new method, going forward?

It means we turned it on to troubleshoot a specific issue that we were investigating. I don't know if it will remain going forward or not.

I bet it had something to do with getting rid of the spammers that have been showing up on a regular basis lately. If that's true it was working pretty good until today when I saw one in the General Forum.
