Default Lost Post

I recently started a post that was to document my C4 rear differential upgrade and flywheel swap. I uploaded a couple of pictures the other day and now I cant seem to find the post under advanced search option. What happened to it?

have you tried listing all the threads you started to see if you could find it?

Yes, without luck. From what I understand it is not easy to accidentally delete a post.

I searched through threads you have started for the past five years and found nothing deleted by moderators.

Yes I am also a member of the ZR1-Net Registry. I looked there first before looking for help here. I know this is where I started the thread under the C4 technical forum as this work is not ZR1 specific. No worries though. Thanks a bunch for looking. I will just start another. Thought the info would be of some help to folks considering doing the same thing.

Recently my intro post disappeared. Was wondering if I did something wrong to get it deleted. Seeing this post makes me think that the Corvette Forum database has some type of corruption and is losing posts.

My entire thread disappeared when I edited and checked the show your signature box on my opening post.

I found a link to my thread in my browser history and brought it back up and unchecked the show my signature and my thread magically appeared again.

Unfortunately my thread was new and just sharing technical info regarding my project and I had no responses. Good idea though.

Link to the thread I lost and resurrected by unchecking the signature box.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-corvette.html

There are clearly some glitches in the CF software/database.

Weird it has disappeared once again... Oh well I wonder what other posts I have lost that I did not notice.

Stumbled across my post on page 3 of the C4 technical section. Glad I found it, just going to copy text and start a new thread and also correct upgrad to upgrade. I wish there were a way to edit titles.... they appear to be forever.

There is a known issue where posts may not get updated into the Search. While the post itself is in the database and can be viewed if you find it or know the direct link, sometimes the Search doesn't have the records. It is an issue being looked into.

Thread titles can be edited by Administrators and Moderators. If you want the thread title edited, let us know and I will change it.

When I asked the tech team about this, they told me the threads are not disappearing. The issue has to do with indexing and it's a known problem that has yet to be resolved. It seems that when a thread is edited, the software wants to reindex it to account for the update. While that should happen almost immediately, the process is being delayed. That means the thread doesn't show up in a search, even though it is right there where it was to begin with.
