Default Image Resizer Option

There used to be an image resizer in user control panel/edit options. You had the option to automatically resize images that are too large to keep the website layout consistent. Was it removed? Why?

The Resizer still works. It simply defaults to forum width automatically.

Thanks for the response, JT. Apparently, there are some still having issues. I post iPhone 5 pics to the forum. They are large files that, well, you know what happens to the webpage layout. Kind of a pain. I can see how large they are when I click "preview post", but when I click "submit reply", the page size is uniform. Guess this is not the case for everyone.

I don't think the resizer works during preview but it does work after the post is published. Is that the issue you're having?

I'm not having any issues. For me, the images are large in preview, but normal once published. There are others who, I believe, are be having issues with large images after the posts/pics are published.

When little red posts a photo, it is so large that I have to arrow right/scroll right because the image takes more than the whole page.

If I take an image from my camera memory card and post that image as is; its the same thing....its too big for a normal screen size.
I have to take the images and re-size them manually before posting.
I do the resizing in MSPaint.

I can right click on the images little red posts, save them, resize in MSPaint, and repost them and they are smaller, and fit the screen correctly.

Here is a rusty Ebola ridden knife photo little red posted:

1) image reduced 75%
2) image reduced 50%
3) his original image size posted in the forum.

It is likely an issue with your browser issue. The browser is what resizes the images using the Resizer program's instructions.

You are either using a 3rd party plugin that is filtering javascript and/or your browser or network is blocking javascript from working.

I see this comment frequently across the network. It's usually a browser issue where the member is blocking javascript through a 3rd party add-on and/or their browser or network is blocking javascript.

That it works for you, as well as me, is also an indication of the above. The software simply has a set of instructions through javascript that the browser must execute for the resizer to work.

Looking at the old resizer, a Preview Post would resize the photo. But with the new resizer, a Preview Post does not resize the photo.

We'll look further into that. I can say it's not a simple off/on setting. It will likely require some re-writing code so it might not be something that can be immediately resolved.

Thanks.
