Why are a lot of us getting these popups. It seems like this forum is infected . What does CF do to prevent this.? I am on a ton of sites and do not get the malware but evertime I come here it starts. Please explain .
I'm having the exact same issue on my Nexus 6p using chrome browser. I will capture some screen shots but they will be the same pics as posted above (Walmart, Android infection notification, etc.).
This is making the forum unusable from a mobile device.
That is because the Moderators are not involved with Advertising or the technical aspect of the site. They are independent of Internet Brands.
Even I'm not involved in the Advertising from Internet Brands.
The Pop ups are a network issue that is not specific to CorvetteForum. The Ad team is aware of the issue and has been removing them as they are found. That is the problem, they return from a different source. I just want to point out to those who claim the site is unsecured and infected, as if there was a breach to cause this, that is technical not correct. The pop ups are coming in through ad partners and the buying of selling of ads.

Was on the mobile site a great deal on Friday. It was ridiculous.
These add partners are azzholes, the pop ups are extremely disruptive.
I'll take one ad a day. I'm okay having to close that page / link and find it again. But typically I am looking for fixes while under the car when this happens. 3x in succession and/or forcing me to close out of a specific page I needed.... I'm pissed. Forget their chance at ads. I'm just going to screen shot pages from now on.
It almost seems like adware that is hijacking the mobile browser and redirecting us to the spam site. From there, the only way to get rid of it, is to close the page.
This doesn't seem like something IB would allow their advertisers to do. Seems more like malware.
Internet Brands does not allow it and has been shutting them down as they are found. Problem is the source keeps moving around. You will note the URLs are different but the specific ads are usually the same.

I just want to jump in and add that these nefarious advertisers are only able to target Android devices. These pop-ups are not affecting iOS users browsing the mobile theme. The best thing you can do to potentially prevent this from happening to you, is to ensure your device is fully updated and running all of the most recent software and OS versions.
JT is really only the messenger here, the Ad Team are essentially a separate division at IB. This is their highest priority item, as JT mentioned it's occurring across several of our communities, targeting only Android users.
