Anyone getting these? Moderators? EVERY time I come to the forum on my iphone I get bombarded with this. Can’t imagine the site administrator isnt aware of the problem.
I get it about 30% of the time and have stopped using the mobile version ,EVER. The same issue affects Rennlist which uses the same mobile software package as CF.
The mobile app also gives a warning that 28.1% of my phone has a virus that will destroy my phone and all files if I don't click on the fix button. I had to stop using the mobile app because it was so aggravating.
I have picked up a re-direct malware from the forum on my Android twice. It takes me to one of the new domains (not .com/.net) - wish I had written it down. Like 65GGvert, it tells me I have a virus and wants me to click a link to get rid of it. The only way I found to get rid of it was to dump all of the data/cache from Chrome. I won't be using my phone to access the forum any more.

You can still use the phone to access the forum, just not the mobile app. Type in the website "forums.corvetteforum.com" on your browser (I used the google search bar) and when you get in create a shortcut to your phone home page, it will create the icon and you can use it just like a computer. If you want a particular forum, go to that section first and then create the shortcut and it will go directly to that page when you click on the icon.

Block everything but “media” in the settings so you’ll still get videos and images.
I tried that on my iPad but it also changed the format of this website to something that I did not care for in viewing it so I turned it back off. I have just recently started getting the pop up again but not as often as before.

Moderators are stuck in the middle between the site users and site ownership. They can't fix this.
But they might let site leadership know that the site is losing mobile users due to choosing enabling this popup to the deficit of supporting vendors adverts.

In short, the MBAs might not be that swuft.
There’s no doubt. Losing users and/or forcing users to use blocker apps causes them to lose money and click-bait advertising revenue. Mobile access is the key to growth traffic.
Fix it.
Ask the NFL how its working out for them to assume viewership only occurs on people’s TV’s.
The problem I was describing is not a pop-up nor an ad. It is a redirect virus/malware embedded in the forum website. I was accessing the forum using Chrome for Android (version 63.0.3239.111). Once the malware downloaded to my phone (Android 7.0), it took over Chrome, redirecting me to the "eternalizing687fd.xyz" website. It told me I had a virus and needed to click on a provided link to scan my phone. I did not click on the link. Redirect malware can be very malicious.
I got it the first time about a week ago. Finally cleaned it by trial and error using multiple anti-virus products and advice through Google. Went back on the forum a couple of days later and got it again. After cleaning a second time, I won't be using my phone for access again.
Note to admins - the site is infected with malware that affects Chrome for Android.

We're locking this thread because we can't monitor and update multiple threads regarding the same concern. The referenced links above are there in case there's useful information to share.
