Default Thread permissions question

Master Moderators,

Is there any way to open a particular individual post's permissions on a unique basis to allow any authenticated user (i.e. forum member) to edit? I understand I can edit my own post but asking about opening permissions to allow any member to edit the post.

Asking in connection with a data collection posting, in this case to consolidate info from various users. Wondering if permissions could be set for members to edit a single post to add info, similar to a shared list in SharePoint.

Have to assume the answer is "no" but figured I would ask.

No, that is not an available option. It's either all content is open for edit by all or just the author.

Thanks, that's what I figured...

Just means I am on the hook for data consolidation but since folks can't follow basic instructions it may prove more useful to be the gatekeeper!
