I have posted many pictures over the year until today as I try to insert a picture a window asking for a URL pops up. I don't have my pictures associated with URL's. I have them on my computer. What gives? BTW this happens when I am sending a PM but when I am doing a regularepost the normal window pops up so I can drag and drop.
This happens to me also, randomly it seems, even on a regular post. I'll try to post again later and it returns to asking to browse my computer for the photo.
If I try to add a pic by editing my original post it happens.....I then click on the "Go advanced" block under my post and it lets me add a pic the normal way.

You have some storage space here under User CP. Upload and then you have a share option.
If you want to post from other sites the right click on the picture and choose "copy image location" then come back to your post and use these tags:

There was never a way to directly upload pictures to CorvetteForum within a PM. That feature does not exist in the stock software which is why CF never had it. In PMs, the only method was to have already had the pictures hosted online and simply hot-link them. That's why you get the URL prompt.
It short, there is nothing broken. You may be confused because the same button you might use to drag and drop pictures in a public post/thread is also the same button you would use when trying to attach a picture in a PM. However, they behave differently between a public post/thread and a PM.
The behaves differently in a PM and a public post/thread because our developers upgraded the feature in public post/threads to allow a more advanced drag-and-drop interface. When in PMs the operates in original form - a hot-link only option.
