Hi all, I am trying to reply to a private message, but get a statement that the recipient cannot be found. How do I get around that? Is the recipient actually getting the message? I have not received a reply.

Hi all, I originally posted on the C5 board, but maybe I should try here. I have a 1998 C5 that needs an anti-lock brake control module. Apparently, there are two different modules for the 1998 model, one for “active breaking,” and one for their regular anti-lock system. I apparently have the regular system. “Vehicle without active breaking (Code JL9) is the one I need. According to my mechanic, the regular module cannot be successfully rebuild. Therefore, I need a new one. Unfortunately, they are no longer made or available from the manufacturer. My mechanic found one , but the seller wants almost $1700.00 for it. I posted about this on the C5 board and got a reply that someone has one that they want $750.00 for, but I need to clarify that it is the right one. When I replied to the message, I got a message that said the recipient could not be found. How can that be when I am replying to a message through the same website I got the message on? Anyway, does anyone have a suggested solution to my problems, or, even better, a JL9 module for a reasonable price? Help!

Who is the recipient? No, if it states the recipient cannot be found then the message is not going to be received. You're either typing in an incorrect username, altering it, or perhaps there is a problem with the website.

This Help section is for Help with the CorvetteForum website (account issues, etc.,) and is not the place to post technical questions about Corvettes. Instead, please find the correct section, based on the generation of the Corvette.

Go back to the main forum page:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/

Now start to slowly scroll down until you see the generation of your Corvette. C5? That's covered under the C5 Corvettes, 1997 - 2004 section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-1997-2004-2/

Got a technical question about the C5? Use the C5 Technical section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c5-tech-1/

General question? There's a C5 General Section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c5-general-103/

You posted the following in the WTB section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ol-module.html

If you're not actually looking for a replacement (Want To Buy - WTB) then posting in one of the sections I linked above is the correct place to post technical questions about your C5.

Hi CSR 427. Is there any kind of warranty with the part? May I return it if it does not work? Does your price include shipping? Thanks.

There are no warranty. We test all of the parts before they are removed. This worked as it should when removed. Shipping is included.
thanks

Hi CSR 427. Well, that makes me a little nervous on a $700.00 part, but it looks as if I can trust a 10 year member. How do we work this out for payment and addresses, etc.? Thanks.

This Help section is for Help with the CorvetteForum website (account issues, etc.,) and is not the place to post technical questions about Corvettes. It's also not the correct location to post For Sale or Wanted ads or discussion pertaining to them. We have sections for those discussions.

Please continue your transaction discussion in the original thread:

Thanks.
