I have a 2005 C6 with 89,000 miles. I recently replaced a battery and then a bad alternator. The alternator is 145 amp. I got a DIC message concerning "check charging system". I am only getting 10.5 amps measured with a voltmeter at the battery and this matches the instrument cluster readout. If the Alternator to Starter fusible link has melted, would I get any charge at all? If the link is good, what is the next possible culprit. Based on some threads I have seen, regarding how to repair a fusible link, the horn honks and the car does start. I have not yet inspected the alternator to starter wiring.
