Default Double charge

You charged me twice for my automatic renewal. Once on 7/26, and once on 7/28. Please refund the second charge.

We're processing the refund request.

In the future, please note that the subscription is automatically renewing via your PayPal account, as indicated in the notification email that you received prior to the renewal. If you don't want the subscription auto-renewed, then you will need to log into your PayPal account and remove the Subscription as we cannot edit your PayPal subscriptions. This may have been why you were double-billed - did you manually renew while the auto-renewal also occurred?

I’ve been a member since 2009, and have had renewals set up through PayPal for most of those years. Both of the charges came from you through PayPal. That’s why I’m complaining. You sent it in to PayPal twice. PayPal says to have you process a refund, and you say I should contact PayPal. Where do I go from here? The point is that I have been charged twice.

In most cases when this double charge occurs, it's because the system automatically process the membership renewal (as per the yearly subscription service that was noted at the time of initial purchase) in addition to the member manually renewing. Why this may occurs may be in part due to the email notification that's sent prior to the membership expiring. It mentions that if you have automatic renewal that the process will automatically renew your subscription but if you're not using automatic renewal, that you may need to manually renew.

The renewal is controlled in the PayPal account. If you don't want automatic renewal, you will need to change your settings in PayPal as we cannot access your PayPal account.

If you have the "classic" dashboard view, follow these steps to opt out:
1. Click 'Profile' at the top of your PayPal account page
2. Next, head to the 'Preapproved Payments' in the 'Financial Information' column
3. Click 'View the Agreement' next to the CorvetteForum entry
4. Then choose Cancel or cancel Automatic Billing and follow the instructions

If you have the "updated" dashboard view, follow these steps to opt out:
1. Click SETTINGS in the upper right-hand corner of the screen as indicated by a GEAR
2. Select PAYMENTS at the top of the screen
3. Click "Manage Pre-Approved Payments" on your screen, this link may also work: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_manage-paylist
4. Click the appropriate merchant (Corvetteforum / Internet Brands) which will take you to a new screen where you'll see the option to CANCEL.

That said, as I previously mentioned, we are processing the refund request.

Update. I kept looking, and finally found that I had 2 PayPal subscriptions for Corvette Forum (they don’t make it easy to find them). I cancelled the one for 7/28, and kept the one for 7/26. Thanks for processing the refund.
