You have to copy and save the link as shown above. Once you click on it, the link executes and will change. Once that happens the link won't work X minutes later.
Yes, the forum software shortens the text of long links, and you copied the text and not the actual link address. Your browser may let you right click on the example and select "copy link address" instead of the displayed text.

Just to fill out the details, a link consists of two parts: The link itself (the link address), and what is to be displayed -- which can be quite different than the link itself.
Used worldwide by scammers and other twits, who do things like send an email with a link that looks like "Log in to my bank here" but actually contains an address of "scammerplace.passwordgrabber.xyzzy"
