Members have been asked to not post their signature more than once per thread. This request was made many years ago. Haven't seen anything to change that. Wait for JT's response.
I am aware of the rules, My signature has 25 words or less, photos are in my album in case members are curious or enjoy looking at other members' cars.
My intent is not to step on anyone's toes or stir the pot. My question remains, has the feature been disabled.
I am curious. Has the members' option to include their signatures when posting on forums been disabled?
Sometimes I have included my signature mainly to post my name so that members would know who is posting but the last few days I have been unable to.
No, the feature has not been disabled. However, the software is supposed to disable the signature from repeated usage by the same member in the same thread page view. That's not really new but that's the only disabling being automatically performed, in addition to the signature being default Off - as outlined in the Help Guide.
I am almost positive I have not abused or have repeated usage of my signature on any topic. I returned to the Corvette Forum 6 or 7 weeks ago after years of absence so there aren't that many posts. I don't know how to access the Help Guide or where the signature OFF default is at and I have searched on the User Control Panel. I understand the rules, but I am not familiar with every aspect of this website, so it will likely take me some time become a bit more knowledgeable.
I appreciate you for taking the time to respond. Thank you

We ask all members take time to read the Announcements and Stickies as they contain important and frequently asked information.
The Help Guide covers the signature usage and setting.
The software automatically disables showing the same signature, by the same member, in a page view. It's automatic and not limited to any specific account(s), just when it there is any example of more than one signature posted by the same member in the same page thread.

I will keep an eye out for important forum announcements to stay up to date.
As for the signature, it is not important to me to display an abbreviated description of 3 of my 5 previous Corvettes and a wishful future C8 which amounts to less than 100 characters including spaces.
I do like to be on first name basis with members who might wish to share a similar comradery on this enthusiast forum. Therefore, if there are no objections from this website's administration and if it is not a violation of any forum rules, I request to be allowed to type my first name at the end of 'one' of my posts of a or on any particular thread in my judgement which I may find to be instrumental or justifiable for my first name to be included, as done on my previous post, making the signature constrictions a non-issue.
I fully understand I am only a guest and my participation rests at the discretion of the forum's administration. Thank you

Reason: typos

I have been thinking for the last 48 hours or so about the 1s and 0s of the software functions, how efficient it appears to be and reached a surprising conclusion.
My signature, in comparison to a posted photo on a thread, takes about 1% of the space 1 photo takes so if I were to intentionally post my signature 2 times... WHALA, the software will automatically disable the signature but if I were to include 15, 20, or 30 photos on 1 post then that would be OK since it is not violating any rules, and if a fellow member decides to quote me and include my 15, 20, or 30 photos on his post then the software would likely give us both a thumbs up.

Apparently the software has a glitch.
Actually it doesn't, it is working as designed.
I just wanted to bring to light the irony, bias, and contradiction of the selective enforcement of the forum rules, which are not unlike how the laws of the United States are presently enforced by the current United States Attorney General. One side gets prosecuted and the other gets a pass. While this comparison is apples to oranges it does show that a person not the software, has decided to be petty.
