Unclear Rules
I've been trying to understand the forum rules regarding content typically labeled "politics", but I can't make a lot of sense of it. I'm not trying to be a problem or challenge anyone. I don't even really care what the rules are, I'm just trying to understand them so as to avoid falling afoul of them.
I've spent much time studying the posts in the Forum Guidelines and Rules forum. There doesn't seem to be any general prohibition against "political" content in the regular C1-C8 Corvette forums. I have a suspicion that there is intended to be such a prohibition but I can not find it.
There is a Politics and Religion forum, which is great.
In the Off Topic forum there is an Announcement of Changes to Off Topic post that specifically bans "political" content. Is that because "political" content is allowed everywhere else?
Assuming there is some part of the forum other than Off Topic where "political" content is banned, my real dilemma is that I don't understand what the moderators mean by the word "politics". (which is why I keep putting it in quotes) Taken literally, politics encompass both persuasion politics which is always voluntary, and governmental politics which is always violence-backed.
For example if I say, "The speed limit should be 20mph in front of libraries". That's definitely politics. I'm saying I want to use the power of government to force everyone against their will to do things my way.
If I say "Corvettes could be a lot lighter if it weren't for government mandates". Is that banned?
What about "Gas costs so much in part because the government, including the current Biden administration, refuses to allow new gasoline refineries to be built in the USA". Is that banned?
Banning politics technically makes all discussion of rules and regulations impossible. Our Corvettes are made by the auto industry which is highly regulated by the government and everything to do with the government is always by definition politics. Our Corvettes are (mostly) driven on public roads. All the public roads are managed by the government so any discussion of road rules is by definition politics.
I can't understand where the intended definition of "politics" begins and ends. I find politics as fascinating as carburetors so to me the connections between them all seem like great conversation.
I'm humbly asking the moderators for specific guidance here.
Thank you.

The post titled Complaints, Suggestions & Questions seems predominantly concerned with questions regarding the actions of moderators and not questioning them in public. That doesn't seem to apply at all in this case.
I'm really asking about the forum as a whole and more specifically the regular Corvette discussion forums.
