I would like to know where to post, a post that every forum member would see. I am having an issue, with my Corvette that every corvette owner will suffer one day. The day GM decides to stop selling parts that keep their cars from running. Such as RCDLR remote control door lock receiver. When this component goes bad you cannot start your car, no matter what. The only solution is to find this module in a junk yard and then buy a Teck 2 GM diagnostic tool and program the used module to your car. The dealership will not install used parts and program them for a paying customer. So, I have acquired the financial backing and the technical people to repair and or rebuild this module. I have contacted SiemensVDO who was purchased by Continental in 2007 (this date is important you will see later) and they were very helpful to a point, they still have the part # and plans, schematics to this module. Problem is that GM paid them to build it so they can't give me any of the info unless GM says they can. I have been on the phone with GM customer service for days and have made no progress, not even a phone number to talk to anyone who knows a phone # to give. I believe them and this is why, GM has an outside company handle their customer service complaints, so no one there has ever even talked to anyone from GM, ever. This is how GM insolates itself from these issues. So, I am bringing it to you and the power of the Corvette owners across America to help me make a stand. My father and I and many other Corvette and Cadilac XLRs cannot drive their vehicles. These are not junk cars I am talking about; I am talking about Vettes worth 20,000 to 60,00 dollars. Not only can we not drive them we can't sell them either, who is going to by a car that they can't use? From 2005 to 2007 gm used the first gen RCDLR with first gen remotes. From 2008 to 2013 Gm used a 2nd gen RCDLR that will program to all 2005 to 2013 Vettes but the 05-07 owners will have to also buy new remotes at 200.00 each after they find, buy, and program their junk yard RCDLR. Most Corvette owners who are having the remote problems don't even know what's going on because they have tried everything, they have read about to get the keyless entry system to work without having to put their remote in the slot in the glove box to start their car even know what problem they have. This RCDLR also is the cause of the shift lock solenoid not disengaging the shifter so they can get it out of park when they do get it to start.
My call to you the Admin and my call to all Corvette owners is to please flood the GM customer service line with calls about this problem. We the people are going to be the only way to get this problem salved. I understand that GM can't keep making every part on every car they make forever, but they could make the plans available so that another company can take over where they left off. They are always talking about us being loyal to them, well it's time for them to be loyal to us and make this needed info available to an aftermarket parts builder. Did you know that GM themselves has an aftermarket parts company. Why don't they make this replacement part. Between 2005 and 2013 GM sold 227,900 Corvettes, and over 12,00 Cadilac XLRs, multiply that by the cheapest Corvette sold in those years, they have made enough money to continue to make this part or give the info to someone who is willing to make this part. I know you guys that own 2014 and newer can still get your parts at this time, but one day your parts will not be made any longer and you will be made enough to write this letter to someone. Please Help Use That Are Having These Issues and Call your GM customer service line and let's see if the Corvette owners of America can make a good thing happen. When you call give them this case # 9-10875085648 this # is directly related to this RCDLR problem. Thanks to everyone who takes time to get involved. Cary

Admin please place this thread where you think it will do the best. Thanks

Every message that members post can be considered important to them. We can't force any specific post to be read by all members. Although you appear to want to relay to all Corvette owners, 2010 Corvette owners will have different (parts) issues than a 1965 Corvette owners.

Since your profile appears to show a 2010 Corvette, I'd use the C6 section:

C6 Corvette, 2005 - 2013 section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-2005-2013-14/

There's a C6 general section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...discussion-74/

Got a technical question about the C6 Corvette? Use the C6 Tech/Performance section:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rformance-101/
