Default Delete post feature has disappeared

Has the ability to delete one's own posts been disabled?

Starting a week or so ago, I have not been able to delete my own posts - the delete button doesn't show in the post edit screen.

I looked in my control panel, and I don't see a delete function enable/disable option.

Never used it before but you can contact a Moderator to do it.

That would create more work for them. It's a convenient feature to have in real time.

Just wanted to alert the staff that it's not working in case they weren't aware of that.

Noticed that too, yesterday. (Wednesday)

I just put 3 periods on the post I wanted to Delete just now. (Thursday)

Wonder what's up with the decision to change the Delete option?

@Peva

Not speaking for J T, who is at liberty to elaborate, but yes, we are aware that the delete post feature is no longer available for members who are not staff members of the site (admins. moderators, IB staff).

I just noticed I could no longer delete posts I made in error.

Any chance of getting that ability back?

Yea this was one of the issues that I noticed with the latest upgrade. Don't get me started on the new left panel that contains the user info either, it stinks. I complained in the steering committee forum and it was not well received...

Starter grinding sound here? You've already started.

The Delete has nothing to do with the upgrade you're referring to. As Chemdawg99 noted, we are aware. The Delete is not available.

As far as feedback being well received or not, there is a dependence on the material provided to work with.

If there is a reason to delete a post, a member is free to use the Report Post option by clicking on the Report Post icon. One can include a reason for the request. The report will go to Staff for review.
