RIP Ron Minearo
I am very sorry to report that Ron Minearo, longtime member of Santa Clara Corvettes, passed away on April 19 following serious injuries sustained in an autocross accident on March 20. Ron leaves behind his wife, Jan, who is an active member of Santa Clara Corvettes and children, Tamara and Pete. Ron will be greatly missed by the Corvette community in Northern California. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I was shocked to hear the news of Ron's passing. I only knew Ron as a member of SCC, but he was enthusiastic and fun to be around, and will be missed by many.
I just happened to Google Ron's name and came accross this website. Unfortunately, I lost touch with Ron and his family after we moved from a neighborhood court in San Jose back in 1986. Ron and Jan were neighbors. It was a pleasure to know Ron and upon our last day living there, Ron and other residents of the court gave us a send off as we were moving to the Sacramento area after I got medically retired from the police department. I still remember the last words from the group, and not surprisingly, it came from Ron. He said, "that was the best ten years ever". Our court was full of great people, we partied all the time and it was a sad day driving out of there with all our worldly possessions in a trailer behind us. I suppose the lesson here was the fact live moves on, but without one great guy.
Ron was one of the most engaging and friendly people I have ever known. I didn't have the opportunity to say goodbye to Ron after he passed, for some reason we didn't get the message, but to this day I'll always remember him as one of my favorite people throughout my lifetime. RIP Ron and thank you Sunnyvale Dave for posting your original message.
I was at that event and sadly this all could have been avoided and I did speak to Ron and the other members about my concerns ad if k rails would have been put in place as I suggested he would be alive today and yes very sad .
