Though nor a member here, Steve was important enough in the Corvette community that I believe he deserves mention. Over the years, Steve owned, among a lot of others, a 2300 mile original '56, multiple L88's, the Cerv cars, and more 435 HP cars than most of us have seen.
Te, from Team Chevelle :
"Steve passed away Sunday at his winter home in Ft Meyers FL. His summer home was Wayzata MN.
Very active with Corvettes, 32-34 Fords and Chevelles. Misc other exotics as well.
Steve was a good man and we have known him a long time. Talked to him Friday and he was at the Kissimmee Mecum sale. He was looking to but a 1940 Ford woodie on Saturday but it went for $80K plus juice. That was above his level of interest.
Steve had quite a few NICE Chevelles and most were SS converts. We share his interest in converts.
He was halfway through restoring a rust- free LS6 hardtop and he was excited about finding one that was nice enough.
You will not be forgotten bud R.I.P."
I first net Steve in 1960 when he was in the eighth grade. We were best friends for the next 10-12 years. We were both into Hot Rods then; he had a chopped '32 sedan and I had a "T" bucket. The Corvettes came later.I had purchased a L79 coupe new in 1967 and foolishly sold it a couple of years later. When I realized the error of my ways, a couple of calls to Steve produced a very close duplicate of that car that I still have. Thanks, Steve.
