Default My Happy Days Friend

Just came across this photo of my high school best friend Jim Park and wanted to post.

We without a doubt lived the Happy Days lifestyle going to high school and college together!

In high school, Jim drove a 57 Chevy 2 door hdtp he had built up the 265 in with a then hot Duntov cam. It was indeed at the time a real performer!

In college he then traded up for a 61 Corvette with the 283 dual quads. The Vette had the Fawn Beige color with a white cove stripe.

We did a LOT of crazy cruising back in the day and the movies Mel’s Dinner hangout was our local Pizza Palace at the Western edge of Miami’s Hialeah.

Hot cars always came there as it was a convenient short drive to the straight long roads in the Everglades (Chrome Avenue) with no real cop patrols.

Only problem to realize was a deep canal on one side that was dug out to create the road!

Cars would come to our drive in and - if - a race was on, the Pizza Palace emptied out in short order just to watch the dual!

Jim sadly passed back in 2017 but he and our fun times are certainly remembered and missed yet today.

RIP Jim! ❤️

I have only had one or two long term friends like that. I think I am the only one of our little group still alive. I am almost 79 so it has been a long life with a lot of wonderful memories. Continue to treasure yours.

At 81 I too am in the same situation of lost friends over the many years. Indeed we will always remember and treasure our friendships and memories. Thanks for your kind words!

Really nice of you to share some memories of your best friend. Thank you. Sadly, my 2 best buddies growing up have passed way too soon and I am only 68. I too frequently remember our lives growing up together.

Seems there are a lot of us now sadly experiencing the same thing. Your comment and thumbs up are truly appreciated.
